Commarco withdraws from negotiations for Springer & Jacoby
08/12/2009, Hamburg/Berlin – Commarco, Germany’s largest independent communications and marketing holding company, has decided not to pursue an involvement with noted communications agency Springer & Jacoby. In the wake of a detailed and comprehensive due diligence inspection, the decision was taken to break off negotiations because of differences in opinion concerning the financial conditions.
“Having held extensive discussions with customers and personnel, I would like to thank everyone involved for working with us so closely,” says Christian Tiedemann, CEO of Commarco. “I am convinced that a new Springer & Jacoby would have developed in a positive manner as an independent brand under the Commarco umbrella. But at the end of the day, it was not possible to reach agreement over the valuation of the transaction.”
Commarco is the largest holding company for communications and marketing service providers based in Germany. The Commarco umbrella covers around 30 advertising and specialist agencies and virtually the full spectrum of communications disciplines. Among the best-known agency brands are Scholz & Friends, deepblue networks, Lowe Deutschland and the gkk DialogGroup. Across Europe, 1,500 employees work in Commarco agencies.
