2011
Since April 2011 the company has been 100 per cent owned by the British advertising holding WPP. Through its incorporation into the international WPP network, Commarco has seen its service portfolio expanded with high-quality special expertise and international resources. This underlines the Commarco holding’s claim of being the first address for blue-chip clients in German-speaking countries.
2010
Commarco acquires the pan-European CRM network Celsius International and, in doing so, accelerates the internationalisation of the gkk DialogGroup. Scholz & Friends gains the Germany account for the communication company Vodafone.
2009
The Commarco subsidiary Scholz & Friends gains the Europe-wide account for the automobile group Opel, the biggest account of the year. Michael Koch, one of Germany's most distinguished creatives, joins Commarco subsidiary gkk DialogGroup.
2007
Change of the corporate name from Scholz & Friends Holding to the name Commarco. Strategic alliance with Lowe Worldwide for international markets in which Commarco does not have its own presence. Acquisition of the gkk DialogGroup. Acquisition of Wichmann Communications, today Scholz & Friends Profile.
2006
Scholz & Friends in Germany is no. 1 in every creative ranking (ManagerMagazin, Werben & Verkaufen, Horizont) and according to marketing decision makers "best" in efficiency and the integrated communication. Furthermore "Direct Agency of the Year" in Cannes, "Agency of the Year" in Germany, Hungary and Poland and "Necomer Agency of the Year" in Sweden and Romania.
2005
Delisting of the Scholz & Friends AG from the German stock exchange on Frankfurt. Squeeze-Out of the remaining minority shareholders.
2004
Acquisition of IMP Interactive Marketing Partner and renamed into Scholz & Friends Interactive. Today integrated into deepblue networks.
2003
Management buy-out by the management team Thomas Heilmann, Frank-Michael Schmidt, Christian Tiedemann and Sebastian Turner together with the new major shareholder Electra Europe, today named Cognetas, which acquired the shares from Cordiant. Acquisition of deepblue networks. Acquisition of couch potatoes TV-production.
2001
Melting of the Scholz & Friends AG with the United Visions Entertainment AG and listing of the shares of the Scholz & Friends AG at the German stock exchange on Frankfurt.
1999
Acquisition of 100 percent of Scholz & Friends by Cordiant.
1995
Founding of the international network of Scholz & Friends by opening offices in serveral European cities.
1986
Acquisition of 51 percent of Scholz & Friends by Ted Bates & Co., later Bates Worldwide and Cordiant.
1981
Founding of the Advertising agency Scholz & Friends in Hamburg by Juergen Scholz.
